The Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco now join Dzire, Brezza, and Swift in offering six airbags as standard across the brand’s Arena lineup.

Maruti Suzuki has announced that its Arena range, including the WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco, now comes equipped with six airbags as standard. Following the Swift, Dzire, and Brezza, these updated vehicles are available at Arena dealerships nationwide, highlighting the company’s commitment to broader safety accessibility. The addition of six airbags—front, side, and curtain—is further enhanced by 3-point seat belts with reminders, electronic stability control (ESP), hill hold assist, and ABS with EBD.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, 'India’s rapidly expanding modern road infrastructure, high-speed expressways, and evolving mobility patterns imply that the need for robust safety measures has never been greater.'

Maruti Suzuki posted a 7% year-on-year growth in total sales for April 2025, selling 1.80 lakh vehicles compared to 1.68 lakh units in April 2024. Domestic sales remained largely stable at 1.39 lakh units, showing only a slight increase from last year’s 1.38 lakh. The standout performance came from exports, which rose sharply by 25.95%, reaching 27,911 units.
In April 2025, demand in Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level segment slowed significantly, with Alto and S-Presso sales nearly halving to 6,332 units from 11,519 last year. Meanwhile, the compact car segment continued to gain momentum.

With strong performers like the Baleno, Swift, WagonR, Dzire, Ignis, and Celerio, the company recorded a healthy increase, selling 61,591 units—up from the 56,953 units sold in April 2024.
