With two significant feature additions that buyers have long expected, Mahindra is looking to enhance the Scorpio N's equipment list in India. According to industry reports, the SUV will soon be available with Level 2 ADAS and a panoramic sunroof, representing an impressive improvement in both comfort and safety. The decision was made as the Scorpio N continues to do well in our home market, selling over 14,400 units just last month, a 5 per cent increase from the previous year. Mahindra will likely incorporate these brand-new features in the top-of-the-line variants. As of right now, no trim level comes with an ADAS suite, and starting with the Z6 variant, only a basic single-pane electric sunroof is available.
By adding Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to the Scorpio N's feature list, the homegrown carmaker is anticipated to make a significant advancement and move towards more technologically advanced safety. This could introduce features such as adaptive cruise control, semi-autonomous highway driving, automatic headlight dimming, lane departure warning, road sign detection, and automatic emergency braking.

Due to its 5-star adult occupant rating from Global NCAP testing, the Scorpio N already commands attention for safety. While its child safety rating was three stars, it received 29.25 out of 34 points for adult protection. By including Level 2 ADAS, the SUV's safety profile could be significantly improved, possibly making it one of the safest options in the market. Although these premium features are anticipated to be limited to higher-end models, there are rumours that Mahindra may also introduce better standard safety features throughout the lineup, such as six airbags.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming SUV is expected to retain the engine options from the previous generation. Buyers will still be able to choose between two options: a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel unit.
Regarding the power figures, the petrol engine produces a maximum output of 200bhp and a torque of 380Nm. In contrast, the top-of-the-line diesel engine generates 173bhp and 400Nm, while the lower-spec models produce 132bhp and 300Nm. Both configurations come with a six-speed gearbox.

The Scorpio N remains a capable machine, particularly in its diesel-powered form. The 4WD version includes off-road-focused hardware such as Mahindra’s 4XPLOR terrain system for various conditions, a low-range gearbox, and a brake-locking differential. Meanwhile, the two-wheel-drive diesel trims offer selectable driving modes: Zip, Zap, and Zoom, with ‘Zoom’ delivering the most aggressive throttle callibration for performance-focused driving.
