With a focus on achieving its goal of ranking among the top manufacturers of compact SUVs in India by 2027, Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO. It is essentially a redesigned version of the popular XUV300. One of the most anticipated models of 2024, the XUV 3XO carries a starting price tag of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the rivals, the car competes in the fiercely competitive SUV market against the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Kia Sonet Front

The price range of the Mahindra XUV 3XO starts at Rs 7.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.49 lakh. The Kia Sonet, meanwhile, has a starting price tag of Rs 8 lakh. The top-of-the-line Sonet variant is priced at Rs 15.69 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Rear

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is available with both petrol and diesel engines. It has two petrol and one diesel engine option. The 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi petrol mill puts out 110bhp of peak power and 200Nm of maximum torque. The peak power and torque output of the 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi petrol unit stand at 128bhp and 230Nm, respectively. The SUV's gearbox options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. The diesel version is driven by a 1.2-litre turbocharged CRDe engine and is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. This engine develops 115bhp and 300Nm of maximum torque. 

Kia Sonet Rear

Similar to its sibling, the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet comes with three different engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The bigger petrol unit has a maximum power output of 81bhp and a torque output of 113.8Nm. The turbocharged petrol engine churns out 118bhp and 172Nm. Lastly, the diesel mill is capable of producing 250Nm and 114bhp. On the transmission front, the Sonet offers a five-speed manual gearbox, a six-speed iMT, a seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra 3X0 Interior

The new XUV 3XO boasts a sizable panoramic sunroof called Skyroof, which is advertised as the largest in the segment. It also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an AdrenoX operating system, first seen in the Mahindra XUV700. Other features include a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a 360-degree surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, a revised centre console, traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), a 7-speaker Harman Kardon system, six airbags, a new steering wheel, and Level 2 ADAS suite. 

Sonet Interior

The feature suite of the Sonet includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, auto climate control, six airbags, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, a wireless phone charger, electronic stability control (ESC), connected car tech, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also has ADAS safety features, such as blind spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and forward collision warning.
