Mahindra has made significant updates to the front, giving the all-new XUV 7XO a distinct identity over its predecessor. The design shows clear inspiration from the XEV 9S and Mahindra’s latest SUV styling cues. The grille has been redesigned with bold vertical slats framing the signature ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, complemented by slim LED DRLs, dual-pod LED projector headlamps, and LED fog lamps.
Other notable highlights include a muscular bumper with faux skid plates, new 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a rugged rear bumper, a shark-fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, and revised LED taillamps.
Compared to the XUV700, the revamped XUV 7XO is more tech-focused. It comes with a triple-screen setup, inspired by the XEV 9e and XEV 9S, which combines a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen (powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P chipset), and a dedicated entertainment display for the front passenger. The front passenger seat can slide forward with the ‘boss’ mode to give more space in the rear, while the new flat-bottom steering wheel adds a sporty touch.
The cabin also offers a new flat-bottom steering wheel, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, multi-zone ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats, BYOD functionality, and high-density seat foam with first-in-segment plush pads, Alexa Built-in with ChatGPT integration, and 93 connected car features via the AdrenoX app.
In terms of safety, the SUV comes with seven airbags (six standard), ISOFIX seat anchorages, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a 540-degree camera, and an ADAS package, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO carries forward the same engine lineup as the XUV700. The petrol variants use a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 197bhp and 380Nm, and is mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
On the other hand, diesel variants come with a 2.2-litre engine that delivers up to 182bhp and 450Nm, mated to a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The petrol will be front-wheel drive, while the diesel offers both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. That said, Mahindra has reworked the suspension setup for improved ride quality.
