-The updated SUV (now rebranded as XUV 7XO) follows Mahindra’s revised naming strategy, first seen on the XUV 3XO.
Mahindra is all set to give its popular SUV, the XUV700, which holds a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, a mid-life cycle refresh for 2026. The revamped model is slated to debut on January 5 next year and carry the name XUV 7XO, following the same naming strategy seen with the XUV300 facelift (now rebranded as XUV 3XO).
While Mahindra has kept most of the specifics under wraps, early glimpses from the latest teaser suggest meaningful updates both to the exterior and interior. From subtle design tweaks to potential feature upgrades, we can expect a lot from the Mahindra XUV700 facelift. Here’s a closer look at possible features.
As seen in the most recent teaser, the updated XUV700 has a new grille that draws inspiration from the XEV 9S, yet maintains some of the signature styling elements. The headlight cluster is completely new, featuring horizontally stacked dual-pod units.

At the rear, the taillights also appear to have been redesigned subtly. That said, the side profile is expected to remain largely unchanged, with elements like the alloy wheels, flush door handles. The overall silhouette is also likely to be carried over from the current model.
The XUV 7XO is expected to feature a new triple-screen layout, similar to the one seen in the XEV 9S. Other key upgrades are likely to include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, rear ventilated seats, a second wireless charging pad, and multi-colour ambient lighting and sliding middle-row seats. In terms of safety, the updated XUV700 is expected to retain its comprehensive suite of features, including a tyre pressure monitoring system, 7 airbags (with 6 offered as standard), an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
Given that it’s a facelift, Mahindra is unlikely to introduce changes under the hood. The new XUV 7XO is expected to carry forward the same engine and gearbox options as the current model, including a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit with 197bhp and 380Nm, a 2.2-litre diesel engine tuned to 153bhp and 360Nm for the FWD variants, and a more powerful 182bhp/450Nm version available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.
