Mahindra is quietly advancing the next chapter of the XUV700, with the facelifted version spotted testing once again on Indian roads. The camouflaged prototype hints at a more refined aesthetic, featuring slimmer headlights, a reimagined grille design, and streamlined daytime running lights integrated into a reshaped front bumper. A fresh alloy wheel design adds a touch of novelty to the side profile. Inside, leaked images suggest a major interior overhaul, led by a panoramic triple-screen display setup – reportedly borrowed from the XEV 9e concept. Comfort and safety upgrades are also expected, including ventilated second-row seats, improved ADAS features, and manual rear window blinds. Beneath the skin, the SUV is likely to retain its current petrol and diesel powertrains, with a launch anticipated in early 2026.
The latest sightings of the facelifted model provide the most compelling evidence of its production-ready form to date. The test mule looks to have finished headlamps, in contrast to previous test models that had temporary lighting configurations. These new units are supposed to improve lighting performance and visibility by replacing the outdated LED reflector style with dual projector lenses. Although the new DRLs were not visible at the time of this sighting, the lighting design itself has been simplified, doing away with the existing DRLs that extend into the bumper in favour of a neater, more traditional layout. Furthermore, two unique multi-spoke alloy wheel designs that suggested various wheel size configurations or trims were noticed.

A major tech update appears to be on the horizon inside the cabin. According to recent video leaks, a third display has been added in front of the co-driver as part of a single, full-width digital interface. This configuration shows that Mahindra is starting to combine its EV and ICE technologies, as it closely resembles the screen architecture seen in the all-electric XEV 9e concept.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options are anticipated to remain part of the updated XUV700's mechanical lineup. Mahindra might, however, take advantage of this update to introduce a hybrid drivetrain, which would be in line with the industry's overall move towards electrification. Manual and automatic transmissions are likely to remain, and the all-wheel-drive system should continue to be available with the diesel variants.
