Maruti Suzuki Baleno Beats Swift, Becomes India's Best-Selling Car in February

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the best-selling car in February 2023. With 18,592 units sold in February 2023, compared to the 12,570 units it sold in the same month last year, there is a YoY growth of 48%.

Hatchbacks continued to dominate the sales chart in February 2023. With 18,592 units sold in the past month, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the best-selling vehicle, registering a significant 48% YoY increase over the same month last year, when it sold 12,570 units. With registered sales of 18,412 units, 18,114 units, and 16,889 units, respectively, the Swift, Alto, and Wagon R followed their sibling on the chart, standing at second, third, and fourth, respectively. Last month, the Baleno defeated its top rivals, the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20. According to market reports, the launch of the significantly revised model a little over a year ago helped it lead the chart in Feb 2023. Price-wise, the new Baleno ranges between Rs 6.56 lakh and Rs 9.83 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Powertrain Details 

The updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback is powered by a 1.2-Litre 4-cylinder Dualjet K12N petrol engine, capable of producing a maximum power output of 90bhp. For transmission, the Baleno uses either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Moreover, it gets 14-inch disc brakes at the front axle, along with a revised suspension system.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Features

The new Baleno has a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, an Arkamys surround sound system, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, an auto-dimming IRVM, Suzuki Connect connected car technology, and support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and voice commands.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Dimensions & Variants 

The model is 3,990mm in overall length, 1,745mm in width, and 1,500mm in height and has a 2,520mm wheelbase. It is available in four versions  Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha – and has six colour options: Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, Luxe Beige, Pearl Arctic White, Nexa Blue, and Splendid Silver.

In India, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno competes with vehicles like the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz, and more.

Maruti Suzuki showcased the Jimny-5 door and Fronx at the Auto Expo 2023. The leading carmaker will launch both models soon. According to reports, the Maruti Fronx is an SUV coupe based on the Baleno and is anticipated to go on sale in India by April 2023.
