Maruti Suzuki launches the Baleno RS for Rs 8.69 lakh

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has finally launched the Baleno RS in India for an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 8.69 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki has expanded their Baleno range with the launch of the Baleno RS in India. Just like the standard car, the Baleno RS will be sold through the company’s Nexa dealer network.

The Baleno RS gets the 1.0 BoosterJet powertrain mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine is a 998cc, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which develops 100bhp at 5,500rpm and 150Nm of peak torque between 1,700-4,500rpm. Based on the same light-weight platform as the Baleno, this RS version also manages to keep its overall weight in check (just 950kilograms) thanks to which the hatchback gets a respectable power-to-weight ratio. As it is being marketed as a performance car by Maruti Suzuki, also included in the package is the much-welcomed addition of rear disc brakes which will aid in stopping power.

In addition, the Baleno RS also gets cosmetic updates on the exterior like new sportier front and rear bumpers, a black chin spoiler at the front, black alloy wheels and a subtle RS badge on the boot lid. While on the inside, you get loads of goodies as standard because the RS is only offered in top-spec Alpha trim. Due to this, the Baleno RS comes with touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, projector headlamps, keyless entry, push button stop/start, ABS with EBD and dual front airbags.

The Baleno RS is now available in seven colours across all Nexa showroom across the country.
