Maruti Suzuki S-Presso S-CNG launched

On sale in four variants, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso S-CNG ranges from Rs 4.84 lakh to Rs 5.14 lakh.  With the petrol LXi priced at Rs 4.09 lakh, the S-CNG demands roughly Rs 75,000 more

Maruti Suzuki has tasted great success in selling CNG offerings in the financial year ending March 2020. Just a few weeks back, the Manesar-based carmaker announced that they have sold more than 1 lakh cars with their factory-fitted CNG kits in FY20. It doesn’t come as a surprise then, that the company has been gradually expanding its CNG line-up. Earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki commenced the sale of the Celerio with the CNG option. Now, the company has launched the S-Presso with a CNG kit too. Prices for the base LXi trim start at Rs 4.84 lakh, while the top-spec VXi(O) CNG is priced at Rs 5.14 lakh. In comparison, the standard petrol-powered iteration ranges between Rs 4.09 lakh and Rs 4.39 lakh.

At the heart, the S-Presso continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder motor but in the CNG trim it makes 58bhp and 78Nm. In comparison, the petrol-powered S-Presso is good for 67bhp and 90Nm. While the S-Presso petrol has been rated for an ARAI claimed efficiency of 21.7kmpl, in CNG mode, it claims to deliver 31.2km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki first showcased the S-Presso S-CNG at the Auto Expo in February this year. The company has six CNG models on sale – Alto, Wagon R, Eeco, Ertiga, Celerio and now the S-Presso. Here’s a look at the variant-wise pricing of the S-Presso S-CNG.
