Mercedes-Benz is all set to reintroduce the CLA in India in a fully electric avatar, after discontinuing its ICE counterparts in 2020. The entry-level luxury sedan will be launched in India in April, while reservations are set to open on March 10, 2026. The four-door coupe is the first model built on Mercedes-Benz’s new Modular Architecture (MMA).
It will be offered in several colour options, including Clear Blue, Cosmic Black, Polar White, as well as Manufaktur-exclusive Alpine Grey and Patagonia Red. Globally, the CLA EV comes in two variants: 250+ and 350 4MATIC. In India, only the CLA 250+ variant will be available, offering a claimed 792 km range on the WLTP cycle. Here’s everything you need to know about Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming electric sedan.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric, positioned as the brand’s new entry-level EV in India, is expected to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it will go head-to-head against popular models in the market, including the BMW i4 (Rs 72.50 lakh), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 46 lakh), BYD Seal (Rs 41 lakh), and Kia EV6 (Rs 60 lakh).
The CLA 250+ has an 800-volt electrical architecture, and is equipped with an 85kWh battery, which enables a WLTP range of 792 kilometres. The rear-mounted single motor generates 268bhp and 350Nm of torque, allowing the sedan to accelerate from 0–100km/h in just 6.7 seconds.
