MG Gloster launched at Rs 28.98 lakh

Measuring nearly five metres in length, the mega-size MG Gloster becomes the first in its segment to feature Level-1 autonomous driving features.

The all-new MG Gloster has been launched in India today, with prices starting from ₹28.98 lakh for the entry-level Super variant and going up to ₹35.38 lakh for the top-spec Savvy variant. In between, the MG Gloster offers two more variants – Smart & Sharp. The Gloster is also available in two seating configurations – with six seats (individual captain seats in the middle row, available only in the Smart, Sharp, and Savvy variants) or with seven seats (conventional bench seat in the middle row, available only in the Super and Sharp variants). The variant-wise pricing of the MG Gloster is given below. All figures are ex-showroom, Delhi, and indicate introductory prices, applicable only to the first 2,000 customers and valid only till 31st October 2020.

At 4,985mm in length, the MG Gloster happens to be the longest SUV in its segment. In fact, with a height of 1,867mm, it's also the tallest. In comparison, the Ford Endeavour measures 4,892mm and 1,837m in length and height, respectively. The Gloster measures 1,926mm in width and also offers a 2,950mm wheelbase, which is also the longest in the segment. 

There's a single diesel powertrain on offer with the MG Gloster – a 2.0-litre engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. However, as shown above, the lower variants (Super & Smart) get the single-turbo option that develops 161bhp and 375Nm of torque (RWD only). The higher-spec variants get a twin-turbo engine that develops an impressive 215bhp and 480Nm of torque (shift-on-fly 4WD).

The MG Gloster is also India's first Level-1 autonomous vehicle, which features some segment-first Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The ADAS suite consists of features like Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Auto-Park Assist, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).

On the aftersales front, MG is offering a standard 3-year/one lakh kms warranty and three-year Road-Side Assistance (RSA) for the Gloster. The My MG Shield package also includes three free-labour services.
