MG Gloster receives 2,000 bookings

Just three weeks into the launch of the Gloster, MG Motor India has already received more than 2,000 bookings. The full-size SUV starts at Rs 28.98 lakh for the base Super variant

MG Motor India introduced its fourth new product - the Gloster - last month at a starting price of Rs 28.98 lakh. The Gloster is the flagship offering for MG and goes right up to Rs 35.38 lakh for the fully loaded Savy variant. It has just been three weeks since MG announced the prices of the full-sized SUV and the company has already received more than 2,000 bookings. At the time of launch, the company had announced that the aforementioned prices are introductory for the first 2,000 customers - expect MG to hike the prices of the Gloster soon.

The Gloster takes on the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the likes. To compete with these big guns, MG has loaded the Gloster with a long list of features including Level-1 autonomous tech like lane departure warning, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and more.

MG only offers the Gloster with a single Diesel engine, but in two states of tune. Lower variants get the 2.0-litre diesel with a single turbo and it puts out 161bhp and 375Nm. All of this power is sent to the rear wheels. The higher variants get the assistance of two turbos and produce 215bhp and 480Nm. Both engine options come paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

MG offers the Gloster with a 3 year / 1,00,000km warranty and a 3-year Road-side assistance.
