The MG Windsor EV dominated the electric car sales charts in India in 2025, becoming the country’s highest-selling EV with 46,735 units dispatched. It surpassed popular rivals such as the Tata Nexon EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Comet EV, ending Nexon’s long-standing reign in the segment.
While JSW MG Motor India reported slightly lower sales in December 2025 at 6,500 units compared to 7,516 units in 2024, the brand closed CY2025 with total sales of 70,554 units, a robust 19% year-on-year growth. Here's a closer look at the key features, price, and other specifications of the Windsor EV, the country's best-selling electric car for 2025.
The MG Windsor EV clinched the Green Car of the Year title at the 2025 ICOTY awards. It is available in three trims (Excite, Essence, and Exclusive) and four colour options, including Starburst Black and Turquoise Green. The Pro variant enhances the driving experience with a larger battery and longer range, while the standard 38kWh battery delivers 134bhp, 200Nm of torque, and a claimed 332 kilometres on a single charge.
Under the BaaS scheme, the standard Windsor EV ranges from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.29 lakh, with an additional charge of Rs 3.9 per kilometre, while the Pro variant is priced between Rs 12.25 lakh and Rs 13.39 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per kilometre. For those preferring full ownership, the outright purchase option is available from Rs 14 lakh up to Rs 18.39 lakh.

The MG Windsor EV, based on the globally sold Wuling Cloud EV, features a full-width LED light bar at both ends, an illuminated MG logo, and flush-fitting door handles. It also has a wide-sloped windshield, short hood, vertically stacked headlamps, and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the MG EV stands out with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and the largest infotainment system in its segment, measuring 15.6-inch. It also has a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, a 3-passenger rear seat with 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests, a comprehensive 360-degree surround-view camera system, a four-way electrically adjustable passenger seat, connected car tech, rear AC vents, wireless charging, and a backseat, which can recline up to 135 degrees (a feature called aero lounge seats). The Windsor is the first mass-market model that comes with a glass roof.
