JSW-MG Motor has launched the Windsor Commute, a fleet-focused taxi version of the Windsor electric SUV in India for commercial operators like Ola, Uber, and other cab services in India. The new fleet variant is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom, without Battery-as-a-Service or BaaS rental option) and is largely similar to the standard Windsor EV, which is the Excite variant. However, MG has made a few adjustments to keep prices lower and enhance practicality for fleet use. The focus of the Windsor Commute is not to target luxury or premium features, but to deliver return on investment (ROI), lower running costs, and higher uptime, which are crucial for taxi operators. Here's a closer look at some of the key features of the new MG Windsor Commute.
The MG Windsor Commute has been introduced for fleet and taxi operators, and while it closely resembles the standard Windsor EV, there are a few key changes that help the new model stand out for commercial use. One of the most notable exterior changes is the use of 17-inch silver steel wheels without any wheel covers. This results in a more utility-focused and rugged design that is ideal for models running long hours every day.

MG is also expected to add a black exterior colour option for the Commute version. Despite these tweaks, the overall design remains unchanged, with elements like LED headlamps, LED rear fog lamps, and flush-fitting door handles.
The cabin of the Windsor Commute flaunts a utilitarian approach. It has an all-black theme complemented by gold accents. While the electrified fleet-focused version continues to offer features like reclining 60:40 split rear seats, adjustable headrests, a 7-inch digital driver display, tilt and telescopic steering, cruise control, and keyless go functionality. It removes the large 10.1-inch infotainment screen seen in higher trims. as the base variant of the MG Windsor EV, with a single motor (134bhp/200Nm), propelling the front wheels. The EV has 332 kilometres of range. Moreover, it supports both 3.2 kW AC charging and 45 kW DC fast charging.
