MG will finally announce the prices for its new flagship ICE SUV, the Majestor, by the end of the last week of April (most probably on April 27) or in the first week of May. The upcoming car will target models such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq, and is expected to be priced above the Rs 40 lakh mark. Bookings are currently open for a token amount of Rs 41,000, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in May. The Majestor will sit above the Gloster, and ride on a ladder-frame chassis. It will stick to the diesel power and add four-wheel-drive hardware to the lineup.

As mentioned, the Majestor will take on several premium players in the segment. The primary rival, the Toyota Fortuner, currently starts at Rs 34.76 lakh. Meanwhile, the more luxury-focused Skoda Kodiaq is priced from Rs 39.99 lakh. Offering one of the most accessible entry points into the segment, the Jeep Meridian will also be a close competitor, with a starting price of Rs 23.33 lakh.

MG is expected to price its new flagship between Rs 39.50 lakh and Rs 45 lakh, positioning it against the high-spec 4x4 variants of these rivals and giving buyers a feature-rich alternative in this competitive segment.
The MG Majestor uses the familiar 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine (212bhp/478Nm) and is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. It offers an option for four-wheel drive, while the rear-wheel drive remains the standard setup.

The MG Majestor gives a choice between a 7-seater bench or a 6-seater layout with premium middle-row captain seats. The second row includes a slide-and-fold mechanism to simplify third-row access. The interior is also spec’d with a 12-speaker JBL audio system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, an auto-tilt function for the ORVMs, and dedicated charging ports for all passengers. MG has equipped the Majestor with electronic stability control, hill-descent control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts, Level 2 ADAS six airbags, and hill-hold assist.
