The third-generation Audi Q3 arrives with a bold new design, inspired by the revamped Q5 and featuring sharper lines and a more modern aesthetic.

The Audi Q3, which has held a strong position in the luxury compact SUV segment for over a decade, has now entered its third generation. The latest iteration marks a new chapter for Audi’s compact SUV lineup, introducing a range of first-time features, chief among them, advanced lighting technology. At the forefront are digital Matrix LED headlamps with micro-LED modules, making their debut in the Q3. This setup significantly enhances road visibility, while the lighting system is now more deeply integrated with the vehicle’s driver assistance features, responding dynamically to driving conditions. Complementing them are segmented LED daytime running lights – 23 per side – that form signature patterns, lending the Q3 a striking on-road identity.
From the side, a bold shoulder line between the headlamps and taillights creates a visually layered profile, accentuating the SUV’s sculptural form through light and shadow.

At the rear, Audi has introduced customisable digital OLED taillamps as an option. These are accompanied by a seamless LED strip and backlit Audi rings – lighting elements never before seen in the brand’s compact class.
Stepping inside, the Q3 presents a thoroughly digitised environment built around Audi’s “digital stage” ethos. Dominating the dashboard is a duo of high-resolution displays: a 12.8-inch infotainment screen and an 11.9-inch digital driver display, both running on the Android Automotive operating system. The all-new Audi Assistant, powered by AI, appears as an animated character capable of responding to natural voice commands.
A reimagined steering wheel now houses the gear selector, freeing up space in the central console for a cleaner layout. Sustainability also plays a major role, with cabin materials featuring eco-conscious choices such as recycled polyester and Econyl – a regenerated nylon made from marine waste. For audio enthusiasts, Audi offers an optional 420-watt premium sound system by Sonos, delivering a rich and immersive listening experience.
In terms of powertrain, the Q3 covers a broad range. The petrol lineup starts with a 1.5-litre TFSI engine producing 148bhp, while those seeking more power can opt for the 2.0-litre four-cylinder variant that puts out 261bhp and 400Nm of torque. Diesel buyers are offered a 2.0-litre TDI generating 148bhp and 360Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and front-wheel drive setup.

The highlight of the range is the Q3 e-hybrid. This plug-in hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a total output of 268bhp and 400Nm. It houses a 25.7kWh battery, enabling up to 119 km of zero-emission driving on the WLTP cycle. For convenience, it supports DC fast charging at 50 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.
Audi has announced that the updated Q3 will arrive in European markets this October, with a U.S. debut scheduled for sometime next year.
