Lots of exciting cars coming our way in June, 2018 – from the much-awaited XC40 to the full-sized Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

The month of May saw a lot of action in the automotive industry. Toyota finally entered the C-segment sedan space with the Yaris, Honda brought in the second-generation Amaze and Mercedes-AMG brought in the most powerful E in the form of the E63 S 4Matic+. While these were new entrants, there were a few variant launches too – Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon both have now been launched with an AMT option. Hyundai has also given the Creta a facelift.

Despite such a long list of launches in May, there’s more coming in June. Here’s what you can expect.

Mitsubishi Outlander:

Expected Price: ₹30 lakh

Bookings for the new Mitsubishi Outlander have already commenced nearly a month ago with the launch and deliveries expected around mid-June. This 2018 iteration of the Outlander gets more than 100 changes to its design and engineering. Under the hood, the Outlander will come with a 2.4-litre petrol motor that makes peak power of 165bhp and torque of 222Nm. The Outlander will come well equipped both inside and out. From LED headlamps and taillamps, rain sensing wipers and 18-inch alloy wheels to leather upholstery and 6.1-inch infotainment paired with a Rockford audio system, the Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a long list of features. When launched, the Outlander will compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

2018 Volvo XC40 India Launch M

Volvo XC40:

Expected Price: ₹35 lakh

Volvo’s third and the smallest SUV will soon go on sale in India. The car will only be launched in India in the R Design trim to start with. Just like the XC60, its smaller sibling too will be launched with just a diesel motor, at least initially. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel produces 190bhp and 400Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels with the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission. Volvo has fitted the XC40 with 19-inch wheels, adaptive bending lights, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, a 13-speaker Harmon Kardon speaker system and more. Volvo is a bit late to join the party, as the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA have been in business for a while now. If history is anything to go by, expect Volvo to be super competitive in terms of pricing of the XC40, despite it being brought in as a CBU.

2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo India Launch M

Porsche Cayenne Turbo:

Expected Price: ₹2 crore

Porsche has just commenced bookings of the new 2018 Cayenne Turbo and announced its launch in June. In its third-generation, the Cayenne not only gets a new design but also a lighter chassis and a new 4.0-litre motor. This motor makes peak power of 542bhp and max torque of 70Nm. Porsche has smartly lowered where the engine is mounted on the car, causing a lower centre of gravity and thereby improved handling. While Porsche will launch the Turbo to start with, they are also expected to bring in the E-Hybrid later this year.

While the three mentioned cars are certain to be launched in June, there are a few other cars that may be launched towards the end of June or the beginning of July. Maruti Suzuki is likely to bring in the facelifted Ciaz to lock horns with the recently launched Toyota Yaris. Honda will bring in the updated CR-V and Jeep will launch their off-road focused Compass Trailhawk. Not wanting to be left behind in the SUV space, Jaguar is likely to bring in the E-Pace too.
