Lexus LBX Front Teaser

Lexus has teased the brand-new LBX in Europe. The all-new model will have its official global debut on June 5 at an event in Milan, Italy. The information about the new model is scanty, but several reports claim it to be an entry-level SUV model. If we go by reports, floating over the internet, the LBX, will replace the existing UX model. Further, it will presumably be built on the Toyota GA-B platform. Lexus has shared two teaser photographs, showing a close-up of a headlight and the rear lighting signature. According to industry speculations, the upcoming model will sit underneath the UX version and resemble the Toyota Yaris Cross. Mechanically, the rumored entry-level SUV, besides the hybrid, could get a dedicated EV-specific model. Let's quickly go through the potential features of this new model, which is anticipated to come to India after its introduction to the international market.

Lexus LBX: Expected Mechanical Details

The Lexus LBX is anticipated to share the same technical specs as its more mainstream sibling because it will likely have the same TNGA-B platform as the supermini Yaris. As a result, an all-wheel-drive hybrid model with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor pairing to produce 112bhp should be available. In a non-hybrid, front-wheel-drive version, a 1.5-litre engine with a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT sends 121bhp of power to the front wheels.

According to teasers, the upcoming model will likely have sharp headlamps with a strip of integrated daytime running lights above each cluster. A frameless intake, black wheel arch cladding, a slight power dome on the bonnet, and a frontal design resembling the most recent Crown and Prius vehicles are all noticeable. The only part of the LBX's rear visible is its full-width taillights. More details on the design will become public on the official global debut, which is slated for June 5.
