Maruti Suzuki recently launched the fourth-generation Swift in India, with a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The only direct competitor to this prominent hatch is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, priced at Rs 5.92 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite the lower market share than SUVs, hatchbacks are still one of the most popular forms of vehicle in the market today. In contrast to their rivals, these compact cars are more fuel-efficient and suitable for city driving. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have been major and long-standing competitors in this sector, with the Swift and the Grand i10, respectively. Now that the Swift has undergone a significant revamp, let's see how it fares against its only direct competitor, the Grand i10 Nios, which received a substantial makeover in mid-2023.
