Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS confirmed for India

The fastest Porsche in the 718 series is on its way to the Indian market. The sportscar was launched internationally last month, and the German marque is all set to launch it in India.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS made its global debut in November 2021, and now, the German sportscar maker has listed it on its India website. The ‘TBA’ (To Be Announced) text above the car confirms that Porsche India will soon launch the ‘RS’ variant of the 718 Cayman GT4.

We already have the Porsche Cayman GT4 on sale at Rs 1.64 crore (ex-showroom). It goes without saying that the sportier Cayman GT4 RS will be priced higher, closer to the Rs 2-crore (ex-showroom) mark.

The price of the Cayman GT4 RS is close to 141,338 euros overseas, which is around Rs 1.2 crore; however, given the fact that it will take the CBU route, the taxation on the new sports car will be high, resulting in a high sticker price.

Porsche India will launch the 718 Cayman GT4 RS in limited numbers. So if you’ve been waiting for one, it's the right time to ring a Porsche dealership near you, as we’re expecting its official launch to happen in January 2022.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is a faster version of an already fast car. The Cayman GT4 RS has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 4.5 seconds. The power output is rated at 493bhp from a 4.0-litre flat-six engine. The gearbox on offer will be a seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
