Porsche 911 Carrera S Facelift

Porsche has officially unveiled the facelifted 911 Carrera S, bringing a host of upgrades to the iconic sports car. Available in convertible and coupe forms, the 911 Carrera S occupies a middle ground between the standard Carrera and the Carrera GTS. It delivers greater power than the base model and is equipped with extra features. It has a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, delivering an impressive 473bhp, making it even more exhilarating to drive. With this enhanced power output, the Carrera S accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds, showcasing its remarkable performance capabilities. Along with the improved engine, the facelifted 911 Carrera S receives subtle design revisions. Inside, the car features advanced technology and refined materials, offering a blend of luxury and performance. This update solidifies the 911 Carrera S’s place as one of Porsche's most thrilling models.

Porsche 911 Carrera S Facelift: Powertrain

The Carrera S boasts a 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, generating 473bhp (a bump of 29.5bhp over the outgoing model), and 530Nm of torque, transmitted through an eight-speed PDK transmission. With upgraded turbochargers and enhanced charge-air cooling, it reaches a top speed of 308km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Standard equipment includes a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes as well as Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+). The braking setup has been improved over the standard model, now borrowing from the GTS with 408mm discs at the front and 380mm at the rear.

Additional options such as the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) and PASM sports suspension, which lowers the ride height by 10mm and features rear-wheel steering, are also available. The damper hydraulics have been optimised compared to the previous model.

Inside the Carrera S, a black leather interior comes as standard, while the rear seat system is available as an option for the coupe and standard on the convertible. There is also the choice to add leather accents to the side panels, seat base, and glove box lid. The car features a wireless phone charger, with optional extras like a front axle lift system, Track Precision app, and the Sport Chrono package.

Though the Carrera S has already been unveiled worldwide, its arrival in India is anticipated soon. Given the performance boost and added features, the price is expected to surpass Rs 2 crore, compared to the Rs 1.98 crore starting price of the base Carrera.
