Renault has taken the wraps off the Bridger Concept at its Strategy Day conference, which will preview its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV. The production-spec Bridger will be designed and developed in India at the brand’s Chennai facility and is said to go on sale around 2027. Notably, India will be a major export base for the compact SUV, in addition to being its primary market. The sub-4m SUV segment is currently dominated by established players such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. Renault’s upcoming offering will take on these rivals, helping the brand strengthen its footprint in the market.

The compact Renault SUV, as anticipated from the earlier teasers, looks rugged and aggressive. It features illuminated ‘Renault’ lettering on a large black finished panel, sharp blade-like LED lights, a sculpted blacked-out skid plate, large square-spoke alloy wheels, chunky squared-off fenders with prominent wheel-arch cladding, a tapering window line, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. The rear of the SUV is highlighted by sharp LED taillamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Renault has not shown the interior yet, but the brand claims that the production-spec Bridger SUV will offer 'exceptional' cabin space. It is said to provide a 400-litre boot, which should make it fairly practical for everyday use.

Renault further claims that the Bridger will provide best-in-class interior space, with plenty of knee room and sufficient headroom. This will result in a comfortable overall cabin experience.
The upcoming SUV, based on the Bridger Concept, will ride on Renault’s R-GMP platform. It will be designed as a 'multi-energy vehicle' with the ability to support petrol, hybrid, and electric powertrains. More exact details will be revealed closer to the launch.
The local production of the SUV will commence in India next year, in 2027. Prices for the model could range somewhere between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
