The Tata Avinya will launch in India as a new premium brand, targeting high-end electric models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. The company has confirmed that the first electric model under this brand will go on sale by the end of 2026. While exact details about the upcoming Tata Avinya EV are not yet available, it is expected to borrow styling cues from the concept showcased at the Auto Expo. Tata Motors, already a trusted name in India, offers a wide range of ICE and EV models across separate channels. Unlike the existing Tata.ev lineup, the Avinya brand will focus exclusively on premium electric vehicles, meeting requirements pertaining to a luxurious driving experience. Reports indicate that Avinya will operate through dedicated showrooms and touchpoints. More concrete details are anticipated to arrive closer to the launch.
Tata Motors has remained tight-lipped about the first production model under its Avinya brand, but industry reports indicate it will be based on the Avinya X Concept revealed at the Auto Expo. The concept looks modern and bold, featuring slim T-shaped DRLs that stand out against a contrasting dark front fascia, complemented by vertically stacked headlamps. The SUV’s coupe-like roofline flows from the B-pillar before tapering sharply at the C-pillar, while the rear windshield is steeply angled, flowing into a pronounced boot spoiler. The side profile is sleek and minimalist, and there are smooth curves to exude elegance. Meanwhile, the SUV’s rear echoes the design at the front, with taillights that reflect the T-shaped DRLs for a cohesive look.

The Avinya X's cabin has an elegant vibe with premium finishes, highlighted by a sophisticated dual-tone palette. The two-spoke steering wheel features integrated touch controls and the signature Avinya logo, while T-shaped ambient lighting adds a modern touch. For a clutter-free experience, the concept limits screen usage and relies on voice commands for intuitive control. Possible comfort and safety features include a panoramic sunroof and advanced connectivity features like V2L and V2V technology, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, dual 12.3-inch displays, multi-zone climate control, and ADAS.

Although Tata Motors has not yet revealed the powertrain details of the first Avinya EV, the concept is built on JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). The platform is said to house a large battery pack, delivering a driving range of at least 500 kilometres on a single charge. The platform offers high flexibility and can support multiple battery configurations.
