Tata Motors has expanded its electric vehicle lineup in India with the introduction of the Harrier EV. Priced starting at Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the electric variant closely mirrors the design of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart but incorporates distinct EV-specific features. The traditional grille is replaced by a sleek, closed-off panel, enhancing aerodynamics. It retains the signature LED headlights and connected LED DRLs, complete with welcome and goodbye animations, while the front bumper is redesigned with vertical slats for a fresh look. The Harrier EV features a distinctive ‘.ev’ badge on the front doors, setting it apart from its ICE sibling. While the side profile stays true to the original design, it now includes newly designed aero-optimised 5-spoke alloy wheels. At the back, the SUV maintains the signature connected LED taillights, while the rear bumper gets a refreshed look with vertical slats. The Harrier EV comes with four colour options (Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, and Pure Grey) alongside a Stealth Edition.
While the overall dashboard design stays close to the ICE Harrier, the EV version sets itself apart with a sophisticated grey-and-white theme. It also features a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and a top-of-the-line Samsung Neo QLED screen for its infotainment system. Other features include a dual-zone climate control, 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle charging (V2C).

The EV comes with an innovative ‘Summon Mode’—a remote-controlled parking assist that allows the SUV to move forward or backward using the keyfob, perfect for navigating tight parking spaces. Its 360-degree camera system now includes a Transparent Mode for improved off-road visibility. The Harrier EV comes with six terrain modes, such as normal, mud ruts, sand, rock crawl, snow/grass, and custom. It also features off-road assist—Tata’s version of off-road cruise control, designed to handle challenging terrain with ease.
In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with tyre pressure monitoring, seven airbags, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree camera. The EV also includes Level 2 ADAS with 22 advanced features, designed keeping Indian roads in mind.
The Tata Harrier EV boasts an advanced version of the Acti.ev platform, and two battery options. The entry-level variants are powered by a 65kWh battery mated to a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 235bhp of maximum power to the rear wheels. On the other hand, the top-spec trims bring in more muscle, featuring a 75kWh LFP battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, generating a total of 390.5bhp and a robust 504Nm of torque.

The 75kWh versions boast an MIDC-certified range of up to 627 kilometres. Real-world tests (Tata's C75 cycle) show the 75kWh RWD model achieving 480 to 505 kilometres. For charging, a 7.2kW AC charger takes about 10.7 hours for a full charge, while a 120kW DC fast charger can charge from 20% to 80% in only 25 minutes.
