Tata Nexon CNG Launched at Rs 8.99 Lakh in India, Gets Turbo-petrol Engine, Panoramic Sunroof and More

Tata Motors has finally added a CNG option to the Nexon lineup, which is already offered in petrol, diesel, and electric guises in India. The Tata Nexon CNG is equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (with direct CNG start tech) under its hood, making it the country's first turbo-petrol CNG vehicle. 

With this, the Nexon CNG now joins the Tiago, Punch, Tigor, and Altroz CNG models in offering similar twin-cylinder CNG technology. Thanks to Tata's twin-cylinder tech, the boot capacity is rated for 321 litres. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the turbo-petrol engine churns out 99bhp and 170Nm of peak torque when running on CNG. Alongside the turbo-petrol engine, the Nexon CNG also packs in new features. With prices starting at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the newly launched Nexon CNG can be had in eight variants: Smart (O), Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, and Fearless+ PS.

Tata Nexon CNG: Features

While its design is almost identical to the ICE (internal combustion engine) model, the Nexon CNG gets several new features, including a panoramic sunroof (segment-first), a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster. Other bits include ventilated seats, auto headlamps, leatherette seat upholstery, an 8-speaker sound system, an air purifier, sequential LED DRLs (with welcome and goodbye animation), and wireless charging. 

Safety-wise, the Nexon CNG comes with a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, ESP (electronic stability program), hill hold control, front parking sensors, and six airbags.
