Tata Motors has confirmed that the Punch Facelift will be launched in India on January 13, 2026. The updated SUV will come with several enhancements over the existing model, based on the teasers. One of the most significant highlights is the introduction of a turbocharged petrol engine.
Currently, the Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol unit that churns out a maximum power of 86.7bhp and a peak torque of 115Nm, and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Tata also offers an i-CNG variant featuring dual-cylinder technology. The most recently shared teasers provide a glimpse of the new features and styling updates in the new Punch. Let’s know about them.

Tata’s entry-level SUV has received a significant makeover at the front. The grille is slimmer, and the headlamps are stacked vertically, echoing the design language of the Punch EV. The DRLs are new, while the bumper features black cladding and a silver-trimmed air dam. Dual air-intake slits dominate the upper section of the bumper, with air curtains positioned at the lower corners. Moreover, there's a front camera and an ORVM bulge, which suggests a surround-view system.

On the sides, the 16-inch alloys look refreshed, and at the rear, a connected smoked taillight cluster is new. The SUV was also teased in a new blue shade, hinting at a refreshed colour lineup.
According to the most recent teasers, the Punch Facelift is set to come with a bigger floating infotainment display, marking an upgrade over the smaller unit. It is also likely to feature a refreshed centre console with new air-conditioning controls and trim accents, as well as a fully digital instrument cluster. Other possible features include a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, push-button start, and new seat upholstery.
The Tata Punch facelift will continue to use the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine from the current model. However, it will gain a turbo-petrol option for the first time.
