Tata Motors will bring back the Sierra nameplate with a new midsize SUV set to launch in India on 25 November 2025. The model will be placed between the Curvv and Harrier in Tata’s SUV portfolio and will target the midsize SUV category currently led by the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Grand Vitara. The new Sierra will use a monocoque platform and will be available with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains. The petrol variants are expected to carry a starting price of Rs 11 lakh and the electric version is expected to carry a starting price of Rs 21 lakh (both, ex-showroom), while the electric models could start near Rs 18 lakh and go up to Rs 25 lakh. The new Sierra will compete with a mix of petrol, diesel, and electric SUVs in the midsize segment.
The design of the Sierra production model keeps some highlights from the earlier concept shown at the Auto Expo. It includes a wraparound rear glass section, split LED headlamps, and a full-width rear light bar. Tata has simplified elements such as the alloy wheel pattern and B-pillar finish to align with production standards. The SUV’s overall shape continues with squared wheel arches and a straight shoulder line. The exterior updates mark a shift from the concept’s design focus toward a more practical layout suitable for large-scale production.
The Sierra will feature three screens positioned across the dashboard. The setup includes a digital instrument display, a central infotainment screen, and a separate unit for the front passenger.

Each display measures roughly 12.3 inches. Tata will use soft-touch materials and a dual-tone dashboard finish.
The interior will also include ambient lighting running across the front fascia. The layout is designed to support connected car technology and in-car functions for daily and family use.
The engine range will include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor with an expected output of 168bhp and 280Nm. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine sourced from the Curvv line-up will also be available. Tata will offer both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmission options across select variants. The combination of powertrains is structured to cover customers with different fuel and usage needs.

The electric version of the Sierra will likely arrive after the internal combustion engine models. It will share its structure and electrical system with the Harrier EV. Tata will likely offer two battery pack options, with the larger one capable of delivering upwards of 500km per charge. The EV will include fast charging and bidirectional charging support.
