With seven of its models appearing on the list of the top 10 vehicles sold in India in February, Maruti Suzuki maintains its dominance in the country's automobile market. The top performer for the month was the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which surpassed the Tata Nexon to reclaim the title of best-selling SUV. The Grand Vitara, the brand's flagship model, outperformed the in-demand Kia Seltos in the compact SUV market, underscoring the market's rising popularity. Other models on the list include the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch, and more. Now, without further ado, let's look at the top 10 vehicles that made the list of India's best-selling cars in February 2023.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The most popular vehicle on Indian roads in the premium hatchback segment is still the new Baleno. Since its sales have been rising steadily over the past few months, it has become a well-liked option among consumers. The Baleno sales by Maruti Suzuki increased to 18,592 units in February from 16,357 units in January this year. In contrast, 12,570 customers purchased the previous-generation Baleno in February last year.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has maintained its appeal despite the approaching facelift launch and secured second place on the list of the best-selling vehicles in India. From 16,440 units in January, the hatchback's sales in February increased to 18,412 units. However, there was a slight decrease in sales in comparison to February last year, when Maruti Suzuki sold 19,202 units of the Swift.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

The new generation Alto, Maruti Suzuki's smallest hatchback, has done well since its relaunch last year. The carmaker sold 18,114 Alto units in February, which marks a slight decrease from the 21,411 units it sold in January. With updated features and a starting price of 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the all-new Alto was introduced last year.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The new generation WagonR, a well-liked hatchback from Maruti Suzuki, continued to rank among the top five models sold in February 2023. The boxy hatchback has consistently performed well, despite sales in February falling slightly from 20,466 units in January to 16,889 units in February. Last year, the WagonR became Maruti Suzuki's best-selling model, and customers still find it to be a popular choice.

The Dzire sub-compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki is the only sedan to rank among the top ten vehicles sold in the country. The automaker sold 16,798 units of the Dzire last month, outperforming its competitors the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura. The company sold 11,317 units of the Dzire in January, which suggests that February sales saw a significant increase.

The new generation Brezza from Maruti Suzuki reclaimed the top spot as India's best-selling SUV last month, outperforming the Tata Nexon, a rival that had previously held the position for close to a year. In comparison to January, when Maruti Suzuki sold 14,359 units of the Brezza, sales of the vehicle increased to 15,787 units.

Tata Nexon is still a popular option for SUV buyers in India, despite losing the top spot to the Brezza. Tata Motors sold 13,914 units of the sub-compact SUV in February, which is a slight decrease from the 15,567 units sold in January. In contrast, Tata Motors sold 12,259 Nexon units in the country in February last year, which represents a significant boost in sales.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco

Despite having only basic features, the Maruti Suzuki's Eeco van continues to sell well and perform consistently. In comparison to the 11,709 units sold in January, the manufacturer sold 11,352 units of the model in February. The Eeco's sales have increased year-over-year compared to the 9,190 units sold in February 2022.

Tata Punch

The Punch compact SUV from Tata Motors continues to be the second best-selling model in the company's lineup. The homegrown carmaker sold 11,169 units of the SUV in February, registering a slight decrease from the 12,006 sold in January of this year. However, compared to the 9,592 units sold in February of last year, it has shown a substantial improvement in terms of sales.

The Hyundai Creta SUV continues to dominate the compact SUV market despite a decline in sales. In February, Hyundai sold 10,421 units of the SUV, which has gone down from 15,037 units sold in January. The numbers, however, surpass the 9,616 units sold in February last year. The new Creta SUV's upcoming launch in India is eagerly awaited.
