Top 10 selling cars in March 2017

While it is business as usual for top players on the new car sales charts for the month of March 2017, Maruti Suzuki has significantly increased production of the Baleno to make it the second highest selling car in India.

The last month of the 2016 – 2017 fiscal year saw the top players on the new car sales chart remain stable apart from an unusual rise in production of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Maruti Suzuki has ramped up production of its Baleno hatchback by a fair margin as the company has dispatched 16,426 units of the car in March 2017 to dealers across the country. It is also worth noting that Maruti Suzuki launched a new performance oriented version of the Baleno on the 3rd of March, 2017 to widen the Baleno model range. Usually, the company produces around 10,000 units of the car every month. In fact this is quite big news as Maruti Suzuki has never produced or sold more Balenos than the Swift or Swift DZire. This major increase in production of the Baleno has made it the second highest selling car in country for the month of March 2017.

The production jump of the Baleno has resulted in the Maruti Suzuki Celerio falling out of the top 10 on the sales chart.
