Hyundai secured the top spot in April 2025 car sales with the Creta (including its EV variant), which sold 17,016 units—an increase of 1,569 units compared to April 2024. Despite Hyundai’s win, Maruti Suzuki continued to demonstrate market dominance with three of its models ranking among the month’s top five best-sellers. From January to April 2025, the Creta alone accounted for 69,914 units, underscoring its popularity in the midsize SUV segment. With strong performances from the Venue, Exter, and Alcazar, the SUV lineup helped the company achieve a 70.9% SUV share in its domestic sales. Here's a breakdown of the top five best-selling models last month.
The Hyundai Creta (including EV) saw a notable year-on-year growth of over 10% in April 2025, with sales crossing the 17,000-unit mark. The strong performance can be attributed to the wide range of powertrain options that cater to diverse customer requirements. The lineup includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 113bhp and 144Nm, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 158bhp and 253Nm, and a diesel variant with 114bhp and 250Nm.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire sold 16,996 units in April 2025, marking a 7.4% increase compared to 15,825 units in April last year. It has a new 1.2-litre Z Series naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can be paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. This engine delivers 80bhp and 112Nm of torque. For those looking for a more economical option, select variants also come with a CNG alternative. The Dzire has a starting price of Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Despite a slight year-on-year dip of 0.83%, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza emerged as the third best-selling car in April 2025, with 16,971 units sold, down from 17,113 units in the same month last year. The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 102bhp at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. It offers two transmission choices (a five-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic), and is priced at Rs 8.69 lakh (starting, ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga secured the fourth spot among April 2025’s best-selling cars, with 15,780 units sold, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 16.51%. It is offered in four variants—LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+—and starts at Rs 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Mechanically, the MPV features a 1.5-litre petrol engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology. Additionally, the Ertiga is also available with a CNG powertrain.
