The Maruti Suzuki Dzire was the best-selling car in India in May 2025. It sold 18,084 units, marking a 13% year-on-year increase over the 16,061 units sold in the same month last year.

The Dzire has a 1.2-litre Z Series petrol engine that produces 80bhp and 112Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission. It also comes with a CNG powertrain. The price of the sedan starts in India at Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ertiga was the second best-selling car in India in May 2025. It sold 16,140 units, compared to 13,893 units sold in May of last year. This led to a notable growth of 16% year-on-year.

The MPV has four core variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+), and is priced between Rs 8.84 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki supplied 15,566 units of Brezza in India in May 2025, registering a YoY growth of 10%. For reference, the SUV sold 14,186 units in May 2024.
The car runs on a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 102bhp and a peak torque of 136.8Nm, and is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic. The smart hybrid system adds functions like brake energy regeneration, idle start-stop, and torque assist. A CNG option is also available. The price of the compact SUV starts at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
After topping the charts in April, the Hyundai Creta slipped to fourth place in May 2025, with 14,860 units sold—which is a modest 1% increase over last month’s 14,662 units. The popular SUV is offered with both internal combustion and electric powertrains. Its ICE lineup includes a 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
The Creta Electric comes with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a more powerful 51.4kWh unit. The ICE variant is priced at Rs 11.11 lakh, while the EV costs Rs 17.99 lakh. Both are starting and ex-showroom prices.
The Scorpio was the fifth best-selling car last month. It sold 14,401 units, showing a rise of 5% over 13,717 units sold in May 2024. The Scorpio Classic packs a 2.2-litre diesel engine, while the Scorpio-N comes with two engine options (a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol).

The pricing starts at Rs 13.77 lakh for the Classic and Rs 13.99 lakh for the Scorpio-N. Both are ex-showroom figures.
