Updated MG Astor Launched with New Features for Mid Variants; Price Starts at Rs 9.99 Lakh

MG has updated the Astor with new features, primarily for the Shine and Select trims. Despite the changes, the starting price for the SUV remains the same at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, select variants now come with a higher price tag. The 2025 MG Astor continues to impress with a range of variants—Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro—and a suite of top-tier safety features, including a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, traction control, and Level-2 ADAS. It competes with the Kia Seltos, the Honda Elevate, the Hyundai Creta, the Volkswagen Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq.

2025 MG Astor: What’s New?

The Shine variant of the SUV now has a panoramic sunroof and six speakers (previously only available in the Select model). On the other hand, the Select variant gains six airbags and premium Ivory leatherette seats, which were once exclusive to the Sharp Pro. These updates bring a more luxurious feel to the mid-range trims, enhancing the overall appeal of the SUV for those seeking added value and sophistication.

2025 MG Astor: Features

The MG Astor continues to have a range of advanced features, including a wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, cruise control, and automatic AC.

For safety, the SUV has hill ascent and descent control, electronic stability control, and several cutting-edge ADAS features, like lane-keeping/departure assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning.

2025 MG Astor: Engine

The Astor’s powertrain, with two engine options, remains unchanged after its makeover. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 108bhp and 144Nm and paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT. The second is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 138bhp and 220Nm of torque, and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
