Volvo will bring the C40 Recharge by the end of 2023 to India. The upcoming Volvo C40 Recharge is already available in other countries. When launched, it will expand the brand's line of electric vehicles in our market. The XC40 Recharge and the Volvo C40 use the same platform. The C40 Recharge will enter India via the CKD route. It will get assembled at the firm's production site in Bengaluru. The launch of the C40 Recharge, according to the reports, will increase the automaker's market share in the EV sector. Further, the company has shared its plans to go completely electric by 2030. In terms of design, the Volvo C40 Recharge's front will be similar to the XC40 Recharge. It will have sharp headlamps with an LED DRL pattern. Moreover, the ORVMs will be installed on the doors, and the SUV will ride on big 5-spoke alloy wheels. The upcoming model will have a coupe-like roofline, offering a sporty appearance.

Inside, the upcoming Volvo C40 Recharge is the same as the XC40. However, it does have a set of changes. Because the automaker wants to keep the C40 Recharge environmentally friendly, it is the first vehicle in the company's history to lack leather inside. It has a sizable infotainment system in portrait form similar to the XC40 Recharge.

Talking about the powertrain, two versions of the C40 Recharge are offered in international markets, each with different specs. A single-motor, rear-wheel drive model has a maximum power output of 235bhp and a driving range of 482 kilometre. The other is a dual-motor AWD system that produces 402bhp of peak power output and has a driving range of up to 504 kilometre. The AWD model can go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds.

As for the price, we have no exact update, but speculations are going on that the Swedish carmaker will keep it either close to or more than the XC40 Recharge. The starting price for the Volvo XC40 Recharge is Rs 56.9 lakh (ex-showroom). According to reports, the carmaker aims to bolster its EV segment in India. The upcoming c40 Recharge will play a massive role in its achievement.
