With the YU7, its first electric SUV, Xiaomi has entered the performance luxury space, aiming to compete with Tesla’s Model Y. The YU7 delivers strong performance with a top speed of 253km/h, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds, and an impressive range of up to 835 kilometres. It is available in three variants — Standard, Pro, and Max — which cater to different performance needs. Although the YU7 is officially set to launch in China by July 2025, Xiaomi is widely expected to bring the electric SUV to India by late 2026 or early 2027. With the Indian EV market gaining serious momentum, the YU7 has the potential to emerge as a strong player in the premium electric SUV space. That said, Xiaomi has yet to confirm any official plans or timelines for its India debut.
Xiaomi highlights its homegrown ‘three core electric technologies—motor, battery, and control unit—as key to its EV success. These innovations deliver strong performance and efficient energy use. With the YU7 SUV launch, Xiaomi showcases further improvements, aiming to set new standards in electric drive, battery power, and thermal management.
Xiaomi’s YU7 SUV offers three distinct powertrain options. The Standard variant comes with a rear-wheel-drive setup and a 96.3kWh LFP battery, producing 315.6bhp and delivering a class-leading 835 kilometres of range. The Pro model upgrades to an all-wheel-drive system with dual motors, increasing the power to 489bhp and offering a still-impressive 770 kilometres range with the same battery. Meanwhile, the YU7 Max combines AWD with a 101.7kWh NCM battery, generating a potent 681bhp. It accelerates from 0–100km/h in just 3.23 seconds and reaches a top speed of 253km/h, all while maintaining a solid 760 kilometres range. The Xiaomi YU7’s advanced 800V silicon carbide platform enables ultra-fast charging, adding up to 620 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes.

The Xiaomi YU7 boasts a sleek, low-slung silhouette that combines precise proportions with cutting-edge engineering in a spacious mid-to-large SUV form. Its standout feature is a massive 3.11㎡ clamshell aluminium hood—the largest ever on a production SUV—paired with flush door handles that stay concealed until activated, improving both the vehicle’s look and aerodynamic performance. The front end introduces redesigned waterdrop headlights with hollowed sections and integrated air channels to enhance airflow and illumination.

At the rear, bold ultra-red taillights provide a distinctive, muscular appearance and superior nighttime visibility. With more than 40 aerodynamic refinements, including active grille vents and a sophisticated multi-duct system, the YU7 achieves an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.245, boosting overall efficiency and driving range.
Inside, the Xiaomi YU7 masterfully blends generous space, refined luxury, and cutting-edge technology. Its ‘Dual-Zone Surround Luxury Cabin’ design emphasises openness, anchored by the state-of-the-art Xiaomi HyperVision Panoramic Display—a sweeping triple Mini LED screen that projects vital data seamlessly onto the windshield with crystal-clear precision. The cabin also prioritises wellbeing, featuring eco-conscious, hypoallergenic materials and soft-touch finishes certified by OEKO-TEX. Other highlights include dual zero-gravity front seats and adjustable rear seats. The inclusion of a remote-control panel helps the YU7 provide a connected, intuitive environment that caters to individual passenger preferences.

The SUV offers ample space with 100mm of headroom in the front, 77mm in the rear, and 73mm of rear legroom—outperforming many in its class. Thanks to Xiaomi’s CTB battery integration and low floor design, the interior feels open and airy. When it comes to storage, the YU7 boasts a total capacity of 1,970 litres, including a 141-litres front trunk and a versatile 678-litres rear cargo area that expands to 1,758-litres with seats folded. Additional compartments provide 71 litres of smart storage, making it a practical choice for families and long trips.
