Mahindra is expected to rechristen the facelifted XUV700 as the XUV 7XO, a name it has already trademarked. While there’s no official confirmation yet, the updated SUV is expected to go on sale by early next year. The move mirrors Mahindra’s naming strategy adopted during the revamped XUV300's launch, which was reintroduced as the XUV 3XO. Since its debut in 2021, the XUV700 has remained one of Mahindra’s most popular models in India, and the upcoming facelift aims to build on that success with a mix of cosmetic changes and feature upgrades.
While details are scarce at the moment, previous spy shots suggest that the XUV 7XO will receive a sharper front profile with a more upright grille, updated headlamps, and a redesigned bumper equipped with air dams and a skid plate. The cabin, too, could see a major upgrade in the form of a new triple-screen display setup. Read on for more details.

The facelifted XUV700, expected to be named the XUV 7XO, is set to feature a redesigned pair of alloy wheels, while the rear is likely to see only subtle tweaks. Inside, the cabin could get a host of premium enhancements, including multi-colour ambient lighting, ventilated rear seats for the 6-seater variant, massaging front seats, and sliding middle-row seats for added versatility.

That said, several practical and safety features are likely to be carried over, such as a powered driver’s seat with memory function, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, seven airbags (six standard), a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ADAS, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
Mechanically, the XUV 7XO is expected to retain the same powertrain options as the current XUV700. The lineup includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 197bhp and 380Nm, and a 2.2-litre unit with up to 182bhp and 450Nm.
