Dr. Pawan Goenka appointed as Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra and Mahindra have elevated Dr. Pawan Goenka as the Managing Director, and Anand Mahindra now takes the role of Executive Chairman the company.

Dr. Pawan Goenka has been elevated from the position of Executive Director to the position of Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. for a period of four years. While Anand Mahindra has been designated as Executive Chairman, from his earlier position of Managing Director and Chairman, of the company for a time period of five years.

In 1993, Dr. Goenka joined as General Manager at Mahindra and Mahindra after his 14-year stint in Detroit working with General Motors. Dr. Goenka played a major role in the development and the launch of the Mahindra Scorpio SUV. In 20016, He was appointed as the president of the automotive division at Mahindra, which was followed by his appointment of the same for the Farm Equipment division as well in 2010. M&M elevated Dr. Goenka as Executive Director on the board of the company in 2013, a post which he held for three years until his latest appointment as Managing Director.

“I am humbled by my appointment as the managing director of M&M. When I joined the Group 23 years ago, I could never have imagined that one day I would be entrusted with the responsibility by the Board of the company.” said Dr. Goenka.

“I am sure that with the guidance of the executive chairman and the Board and the support of my colleagues, the company will continue on the growth path that we have witnessed over the past decade and a half.” he added.
