Eicher Polaris launches India's first Personal Utility Vehicle

Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd has launched Multix, India’s first personal utility vehicle. The joint venture is targeting the independent businessman, which has an estimated population of 5.8 crores in the country.

Multix is equipped with X-port, a unique power take-off point, which can generate power up to 3 KW and can be used for lighting homes and powering professional equipments like drilling machines, DJ system, water pumps, etc.

The diesel powered vehicle come with Pro Ride™, an independent suspension system and has a ground clearance of 225mm. A unique tubular frame structure and Roll-Over Protection System (ROPS) provides structural stability and reinforced safety to the vehicle.

Speaking at the launch of Multix, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director & CEO, Eicher Motors Ltd., said, “We have identified a large untapped segment in Independent Businessmen with an estimated population of 5.8 crores in India, and are committed to create a new and strongly differentiated automotive solution for them through Multix. Our aim is to equip the consumers with the Multix ecosystem and enable them to unlock their potential by accessing a world of new opportunities. We have made an investment of Rs. 350 cr  till date.”

Multix has enough cabin space to accommodate five people, along with luggage. The total space has been recorded as 1917 litres. It is available in two-variants and four colours, starting at Rs 2,32,850(e-showroom, Jaipur).

Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd. has made an investment of Rs.350 crores towards development of the vehicle and in setting up a production facility in Jaipur. The plant has an annual capacity of 60,000 units which can be scaled up to 1,20,000 units, if required.
