Fortuner, Innova, Hyryder and More Help Toyota Post 24% YoY Sales Growth in May

From January to May 2024, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold around 1.23 lakh units, compared to 82,763 units sold in the same period the previous year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has released its sales figures for May 2024. The carmaker reported selling 25,273 units, up 24% year-over-year (YoY) from 20,410 units sold in the same month the previous year. Last month, the brand sold 23,959 units in the domestic market and 1,314 units abroad. Additionally, month-over-month (MoM) sales rose by 23% compared to April 2024, when the company sold 20,494 units. Moreover, the manufacturer posted a 48% increase in sales in the first half of the year. From January to May 2024, the company sold around 1.23 lakh units, compared to 82,763 units sold in the same period the previous year.

Speaking on the sales performance, Sabari Manohar, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, 'We continue to post double-digit growth in May 2024 by reporting 24 per cent growth as compared to the previous year. Toyota Taisor: New Addition to the Lineup

In April this year, Toyota added the new Urban Cruiser Taisor to its lineup; deliveries of the SUV started last month. Priced at Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the model is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the sixth product under collaboration between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. The Taisor has two petrol engines: a 1.0-turbo unit with 99bhp and 148Nm and a 1.2-litre NA engine with 88bhp and 113Nm. The turbocharged petrol engine comes with a six-speed automatic torque converter unit in addition to a manual gearbox, while the 1.2-litre unit may be mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. 

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor

The design highlights include a new honeycomb grille, tweaked front bumpers, and linear-style LED DRLs in place of Fronx's three-cube ones. The Taisor rides on the newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts. The car is available in five paint jobs: Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, Lucent Orange, and Gaming Grey. You can opt for the first three with a blacked-out roof. The cabin comes equipped with features such as a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, connected car technology, wireless phone charging, head-up display, 360-degree cameras, rear AC vents, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
