Mr Brar replaces Mr Manohar Bhat as Kia Motors India's new sales & marketing head with immediate effect.

With Kia enjoying record sales in the country, it is also attracting the attention of some of the leading names in the industry as a potential employer. In the latest development, Mr Hardeep Singh Brar has joined the Korean marque in India as its new national head of sales & marketing. Mr Brar has replaced Mr Manohar Bhat – one of the key figures responsible for Kia Motors India's enormous commercial success so far.

It's worth mentioning that Mr Brar was formerly associated with the Chinese carmaker GWM's newly-formed Indian arm, Great Wall Motor (GWM) India, as the Director of Marketing & Sales. However, despite a big presence at the 2020 Auto Expo and concrete plans to enter the Indian market with brands like Haval and GWM EV, GWM's Indian innings seem to have come to an end even before starting, given the socio-political tensions between India and China.

Mr Brar has held senior leadership positions across sales and marketing functions at leading brands like Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Nissan.

Sharing his thoughts on the new executive appointment, Mr Kookhyun Shim, MD & CEO, Kia Motors India, said, 'We are delighted to welcome Hardeep Singh Brar to Kia Motors India family as we accelerate our growth strategy to expand to newer regions in India. Kia has been able to disrupt the Indian automobile industry and emerge as a market leader in a record time, and with Brar onboard, we are confident of consolidating our position further through a more consumer-focused approach.'
