The most recent automaker to announce a price increase on its model lineup, effective January 2024, is Honda Cars India. The Japanese OEM plans to offset the impact of growing input costs by increasing the price of its models. The precise amount that will be raised for each model has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer. For those who don't know, three models are offered by the firm in the Indian market: the Elevate, the City, and the Amaze. The market reaction to the company's latest offering, the Elevate SUV, which made its way to the domestic market at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 11 lakh, has been positive so far. The brand has also confirmed that this introductory price will remain valid until December 23. In January 2024, the manufacturer will revise these prices again.

Other Automakers to Follow the Trend

The decision to implement the price hike is not exclusive to Honda Cars India. Beginning in January 2024, several other significant auto majors, such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Audi India, have also declared their intention to increase the prices of their passenger cars. Similar reasons, such as overall inflation and higher commodity prices, have been cited for these upcoming hikes. Commencing in January, price hikes for various models are being contemplated by other prominent car companies, including Mercedes-Benz India and Tata Motors.
