Hyundai IONIQ 5 Side and Front View

The Kona EV and IONIQ 5 are Hyundai Motor India Limited's (HMIL) current offerings in the premium EV market. The Korean company has stated that it will be introducing five new electric cars for the Indian market, a move that might potentially venture into the uncharted mass-market electric vehicle category. With the release of the Creta EV, which has already been seen testing on Indian roads several times, the trend of mass-market, reasonably priced EVs will soon get underway. According to several industry reports, the electrified Hyundai Creta is expected to go into production by the end of this year, with a launch slated likely for early 2025.

Hyundai Creta EV

The design of the Hyundai EV will be very similar to the current Creta facelift, but there will be some EV-specific elements inside out. It is anticipated that the electric SUV will have a range of 400–450 kilometres on a single charge. Upon launch, the Creta EV will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki eVX, the Mahindra XUV400 EV, and the soon-to-arrive Tata Curvv EV.

Hyundai Venue EV

Next up in the pipeline will be the launch of the Venue EV. Positioned beneath the Creta EV, the electric model is probably going to be based on the next-gen Venue, which should make its way to the market in 2025. The Venue EV will compete mainly with the Tata Nexon EV, while the Mahindra XUV3XO EV will also enter the compact electric SUV sector.

Hyundai Alcazar EV

Hyundai is also planning to roll out the electric version of the three-row Alcazar SUV. It will be based on the mid-life facelift version of the 7-seater model, which is expected to debut by the end of the year. On the mechanical front, the Alcazar EV may share its engine parts with the Creta EV.

Hyundai Exter EV

Hyundai's entry-level electric vehicle, the Exter EV, will compete in the domestic market against models like the Tata Punch EV and MG Comet EV. The electric Exter, which is anticipated to retail for approximately Rs 10–12 lakh (ex-showroom), will primarily borrow design cues from its conventionally powered sibling with a few modest electric-specific tweaks.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV

Lastly, the Ioniq 5 will still be the company's flagship electric product even after it debuts in its next iteration, anticipated to happen around 2030. Similar to the present model, India will be the assembly location for the high-end electric vehicle. Furthermore, Hyundai may also bring the Ioniq 6 to our shores.
