Jeep Grand Cherokee Gets a Price Hike of Rs 1 Lakh in India

Jeep India has raised the price of its premium SUV, the Grand Cherokee, by Rs 1 lakh in India. The carmaker has increased the prices without making any official announcement. Now, the SUV will be available at Rs 78.50 lakh. It was launched in November last year at Rs 77.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Jeep offers the Grand Cherokee in a single Limited (O) model, equipped with four-wheel drive. In terms of market competition, the SUV locks horns with the Volvo XC90, the Audi Q7, the BMW X5, the Mercedes-Benz GLE, etc. Jeep India has not made any modifications to the engine, design, and other aspects of the SUV, which means that it has the same specifications as before. 

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Powertrain Details 

Jeep India offers a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine for the Grand Cherokee. Both Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Rubicon also have the same unit. The engine produces 268bhp and 400Nm. An 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive are available as standard.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Appearance

The SUV has a more angular appearance than its predecessor because of the thin headlights and taillights. At the front end, it gets a 7-slat grille and a Jeep badge. The Grand Cherokee's squared-off wheel arches, body cladding, and 20-inch, machine-cut alloy wheels give it a sturdy appearance. Its rear features a windscreen with chrome accents and thin LED taillights.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Interior

The SUV is available with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Carplay and Android Auto Connectivity. It also has a digital instrument console and for the front passenger, there is a separate digital display. The SUV gets a panoramic sunroof and seats covered in perforated Capri leather. Other notable features include a surround-view camera, leather seats with ventilation, active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, a 9-speaker sound system, etc.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Safety Features 

Safety-wise, the Grand Cherokee SUV is loaded with features such as the TCS, ESC, 8 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, terrain response modes, ABS with EBD, Hill Start Assist, and ADAS.
