At the Futurescape event hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, Mahindra Tractors, a unit of the Mahindra Group, formally unveiled their future-ready line of tractors, the Mahindra OJA. OJA, which means 'Powerhouse of Energy' in Sanskrit, is the automaker's brand-new platform for light-duty tractors. The Mahindra OJA 40 HP tractor costs Rs 7.35 lakh, whereas the OJA 27 HP tractor costs Rs 5.64 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
The new OJA line, according to the firm, represents a cutting-edge breakthrough in tractor technology and introduces a paradigm shift in Light Weight 4WD Tractor design and engineering. At a cost of Rs 1200 crore, it has been created in alliance with the engineering teams at Mahindra Research Valley in India, the Mahindra AFS R&D facility, and Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery in Japan.

Mahindra OJA Tractor Platform: Key Details
The recently released Mahindra tractors are built on the Sub-Compact, Compact, and Small Utility OJA platforms. All of these models have 4WD and a fantastic power-to-weight ratio, claims the brand. The Sub-compact is built for the USA markets, while the Small Utility is made for the markets in the USA, India, and ASEAN. The Compact platform will be accessible to the US, India, and ASEAN markets.
Mahindra introduced 7 new tractor models for the Indian market, based on Compact and Small Utility platforms, with 4WD as standard. According to the company, these models offer unparalleled platform versatility and efficiency to tackle a variety of agricultural jobs. Their power ranges from 20bhp to 40bhp (14.91KW to 19.82kW).
Aside from this, these tractors have three cutting-edge technology packs: PROJA, MYOJA, and ROBOJA. The PROJA productivity pack renders forward/reverse shuttle and creeper, projector headlamps with trademark DRL, tilt and telescopic steering, electric wet PTO, etc. While the ROBOJA pack offers electronic depth and draught control, auto PTO On/Off while turning and reversing, auto braking, electronic quick raise and lower, and auto-implement lift, the MYOJA pack, on the other hand, includes service warnings and telematics.
The OJA series will first be introduced in India before expanding to North America, ASEAN, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Europe, and the SAARC area. Beginning with Thailand in 2024, Mahindra will also make its ASEAN debut.
