Mahindra XUV700 has reached a major sales landmark, with over 3 lakh units sold across India since its debut in August 2021. This success reinforces its standing as a top contender in the full-size SUV segment and reflects the growing demand for tech-loaded and spacious family vehicles. A significant portion of the sales has come from diesel-powered variants. The SUV’s popularity has been sustained through a wide range of choices, including petrol and diesel engines, manual and automatic gearboxes, and both two-wheel and four-wheel drive setups. With premium features like a dual-screen layout and advanced safety tech, the XUV700 continues to draw strong interest ahead of the launch of the facelifted model.

As for variants and prices, the current-gen model is available in a broad selection of trims, namely MX, AX3, AX5, AX5 Select, AX7, and the top-of-the-line AX7L. Exclusive versions like the Blaze and Ebony Editions add further variety to the lineup. Pricing falls between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 25.89 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong contender in the premium midsize SUV space.
In terms of powertrain options, the XUV700 features a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 197bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the diesel alternative, a 2.2-litre unit, generates 182bhp and 450Nm. Both engines are available with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, select trims benefit from an all-wheel-drive system, enhancing off-road and all-weather capability.
Meanwhile, Mahindra is preparing to roll out a mid-cycle update for the XUV700, which has been seen undergoing testing in recent months. The camouflaged prototypes hint at refined exterior styling, including an upgraded headlamp setup that replaces the current LED reflectors with dual projector lenses for improved illumination. The daytime running lights have also been redesigned, moving away from the current bumper-integrated format toward a simpler, more cohesive design. Two new alloy wheel patterns have been observed, likely pointing to variant-specific styling updates.
