Maruti Suzuki India Limited has wrapped up FY 2025-26 on a strong note, posting its highest-ever annual sales. The company sold 2,422,713 units during the year, registering an 8.43 per cent growth over the previous fiscal. The growth came from steady demand in India and a sharp rise in exports. March 2026 was particularly strong. Maruti dispatched 225,251 vehicles, up 16.7 per cent compared to the same month last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 166,219 units, while sales to other OEMs were at 8,783 units. Exports stood out, with 47,040 units shipped during the month, showing a 42.68 per cent year-on-year growth.

SUVs and MPVs continue to do the heavy lifting. Models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga together clocked 71,356 units in March, up from 61,097 units last year. At the same time, hatchbacks still hold ground. The Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Baleno posted 71,789 units, compared to 66,906 units earlier. Combined mini and compact sales stood at 83,530 units.

One interesting takeaway is the continued success of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It ended FY 2025-26 as India’s best-selling car with 2.3 lakh units. This comes at a time when SUVs dominate the market with a 66 per cent share. Despite that, the sedan segment for the company held a 57.2 per cent share.

At the entry level, the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso recorded 11,741 units in March, slightly up from 11,655 units last year. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco added 11,333 units, while the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry contributed 3,209 units. Overall, domestic passenger vehicle sales for the year stood at 1,823,129 units.
Exports have clearly become a big part of the story. Maruti crossed 4.47 lakh units in exports during FY 2025-26, marking a growth of over 34 per cent. The company also began exporting its first EV, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, built at the Hansalpur plant, which now acts as a global hub.
