Ola S1 Scooter, Roadster X Updated With MoveOS 5 Software: 50+ New Features Added

Ola Electric has rolled out its latest MoveOS 5 software update for the S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles, bringing a host of new features aimed at improving performance, range, and rider experience. Designed for the Gen-3 platform but available across generations, the over-the-air update focuses on smarter energy use, better battery life, and enhanced ride customisation. Key additions include DIY Mode for personalising ride settings, Road-Trip Mode for group journeys, and safety tools like SOS Alerts and Live Location Sharing.

The update also introduces Easy Park assistance for tight spots and new infotainment features such as live cricket scores, weather updates, and air quality data—all designed to make everyday riding smoother, safer, and more enjoyable.

Ola MoveOS 5: Improved Battery Performance

The MoveOS 5 update improves the battery performance and adds real-time system monitoring across different vehicle generations. With better energy recovery through upgraded regenerative braking, riders can now squeeze out more range from each charge while also protecting battery life.

These small changes add up, especially for those who use their Ola vehicle daily or for long-distance rides.

Customisable Riding Modes

MoveOS 5 also gives riders more control than ever. The new DIY Mode lets you customise your scooter’s performance—adjusting things like top speed, throttle response, power, and braking feel to match your style. There’s also a new Road-Trip Mode for group rides, with tools like live ride tracking, multi-stop route planning, and emergency alerts via Ola Maps.

For everyday peace of mind, features like Live Location Sharing, SOS Alerts, and Find My Vehicle have been added to help in tricky situations or simply find where you parked.

The update also brings small but thoughtful touches that make life easier. Easy Park mode helps you manoeuvre in tight spaces at low speeds—up to 4 km/h—using just the throttle, whether you’re going forward or in reverse. On the display screen, there’s now a Notification Centre to catch phone alerts without looking at your device. New widgets show live cricket scores, weather updates, and air quality data based on where you are—ideal for staying informed on the go.
