Ola Electric Sells Over 30,000 Units in December 2023, Registers 74% YoY Growth

Ola Electric has registered a 74 per cent year-over-year increase in December 2023, with sales standing at 30,219 electric scooters.

Ola Electric hit a sales milestone late last month as it became the first EV manufacturer in India to sell more than 2.5 lakh units in a calendar year. According to Vahan, Ola recorded a 131 per cent YoY (year-over-year) growth in CY2023, with retail sales at 2,52,647 units from January 1 through to December 21. And now, the company has registered a 74 per cent YoY increase in December 2023, with sales standing at 30,219 electric scooters. As a result, its market share swelled to 40 per cent in the electric two-wheeler segment. 

In addition, Ola has also recorded a 48 per cent sales growth by selling 83,963 electric scooters in the last quarter between October and December 2023, compared to the October-December quarter of 2022. What's more, the brand crossed another milestone in December by producing 4 lakh scooters in just two years.

According to Ola, all of this has been achieved on the back of their strong product lineup, which comprises the S1 Pro, the S1 Air, and the S1 X+. Besides, Ola's 'December to Remember' campaign allowed community members to capitalise on the ongoing offers and benefits.

Ola's Lineup 

At the moment, Ola offers three electric scooters in India, namely the S1 X (Rs 90,000 to Rs 1.10 lakh), the S1 Air (Rs 1.20 lakh) and the S1 Pro Gen 2 (Rs 1.47 lakh). All prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru. The erstwhile S1 has been discontinued in India.

Ola S1 X: Battery, Range

The S1 X comes in 3 variants – S1 X+, S1 X (3kWh), and S1 X (2kWh). The company recently commenced deliveries for the range-topping S1 X+ across India. All three variants of the S1 X lineup are based on the brand’s cutting-edge Gen 2 EV platform, which is likely to spawn other Ola electric vehicles. The top-spec S1 X+ and the mid-spec S1 X come powered by a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an IDC-claimed range of 151 kilometres on a single charge. This 3kWh lithium-ion battery is mated to a 6kW electric motor, resulting in a claimed top speed of 90km/h.

Meanwhile, the entry-level S1 X uses a 2kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an IDC-claimed range of 91 kilometres on a single charge. The top speed is marked at 85km/h.
