  4. Rahil Ansari Head Audi India Accepts The Award For The Rs 5 Coupe

Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India, accepts the award for the RS 5 Coupe

Yes, the Audi RS 5 Coupe captures your heart. And, to be frank, it doesn’t quite come as a surprise that it’s topped the charts this year. While it had some worthy competitors, none offer the combination of speed, usability and desirability that the RS 5 does.

Yes, the Audi RS 5 Coupe captures your heart. And, to be frank, it doesn’t quite come as a surprise that it’s topped the charts this year. While it had some worthy competitors, none offer the combination of speed, usability and desirability that the RS 5 does. The 2.9-litre, V6 twin-turbo develops 444bhp, which means that it’s plenty fast but also sensible at the same time. The power is genuinely ferocious. But it’s the agreeable manner in which it delivers this power that makes it so easy to access. It can be a hooligan if you want it to – the 600Nm of torque ensures that. The RS5’s party trick, though, is the Quattro all-wheel drive system. While it is slightly rear-biased, it does a great job of powering the axle that needs it the most. Add to that a torque vectoring system, and what you get is Velcro-like grip and confident handling. The RS5 feels very much at home while switching direction. It has just enough drama to make you grin. It’s properly fast, properly desirable and everyday usable – what more could you ask for?
