After stepping down from Bajaj Finance as Chairman in 2020, Rahul Bajaj has filed his resignation. Being at the helm of the company for over five and a half decades the boss man, Rahul Bajaj hangs his coat

Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto two-wheelers and three-wheelers has tendered in his resignation effective from April 30, 2021, Baja Auto said in a regulatory filing. Niraj Bajaj has been appointed as Chairman with effect from May 1, 2021. However, Rahul Bajaj would continue as Chairman Emeritus of the company for a term of five years. Rahul Bajaj will turn 83 this June and age is the prior reason for his resignation.

“Shri Rahul Bajaj has made a huge contribution to the success of the company and the group over the last five decades. Considering his tremendous experience and in the interest of the company, and to continue to benefit from his experience, knowledge, and wisdom from time to time in an advisory role and as a mentor, the board of directors at its meeting held today and as recommended by the nomination and remuneration committee has approved the appointment of Shri Rahul Bajaj as Chairman Emeritus of the Company for a term of five years with effect from May 1, 2021." said, Bajaj Auto in an official statement.

In 2020, Rahul Bajaj stepped down as Chairman of Bajaj Finance. He gave up his role as chairman and non-executive director of Bajaj Finserv in 2019 and was appointed chairman emeritus from May 16, 2019.

Since 1965, Rahul Bajaj has been at the helm of the Indian two and three-wheeler company and has played an important role in growing the turnover from 7.2 crore to Rs 12,000 crore.
