Kia India's domestic sales surged 23.89% year-on-year in February 2025, reaching 25,026 units. The standout contributor to this growth was the recently introduced Kia Syros, which accounted for 5,425 units of the total sales and amassed over 20,000 bookings in its first month. Customers showed a clear preference for the higher-end variants,  which made up 46% of the bookings, while 38% opted for the automatic transmission options. The Syros is priced between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Although the Kia Sonet continued to be the brand’s top seller, it saw a 16.52% year-on-year dip, with 7,598 units sold.

In contrast, the Seltos and Carens both showed positive growth. The Seltos saw a modest increase of 2.89%, with sales reaching 6,446 units, while the Carens experienced a notable 10.06% rise, hitting 5,318 units. The premium Carnival Limousine, on the other hand, sold 239 units. On the export front, Kia shipped 2,042 vehicles manufactured in India to more than 70 international markets during the same period.

Other Highlights

Kia recently marked its EV Day, unveiling a range of exciting models geared for the global market. Among the highlights was the production version of the EV4 that offers two battery pack options—58.3kWh and 81.4kWh—with a maximum range of up to 630 kilometres. It will first go on sale in Korea in March, followed by Europe in the second half of the year. While its launch in India hasn't been officially confirmed, it's expected to reach the country in the near future.

In addition, Kia introduced the PV5, the brand’s first-ever van, designed for both commercial and passenger use. The PV5 offers three battery options: a 43.3kWh LFP unit and two NCM variants—51.5kWh and 71.2kWh. The passenger variant, equipped with the largest battery, offers a range of up to 400 kilometres according to WLTP standards, and its fast-charging capabilities allow the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Kia also revealed its smallest electric vehicle to date, the Concept EV2, at the EV Day event in Barcelona. This compact electric car is set to launch in Europe and other markets in 2026. True to Kia’s design language, the car boasts bold dual, claw-shaped headlights, vertical taillights, a pillarless design, square-spoked alloy wheels, and rugged plastic cladding. The production model is anticipated to closely mirror the concept, with some features slightly subdued.
